Candace Scheirer: Handling All of You and Your Horse's Needs

Day Camp Information

**Due to changing facilities, we have not yet picked a date or started planning our next day camp.  We will be sure to post information about the next day camp as soon as a date is picked.

Candace Scheirer occassionally hosts a Day Camp for her lesson students, and any other children/horse entustiast interested.  Candace recognizes that many student come for lessons, ride, and then go home immediately.  They do not get to spend much time working around the horses, learning horsemanship and other important horse information.  This is why the Day Camp has been created.  As majority of children have school full time, they cannot participate in regular horse camps until summer.  The Day Camp fixes this problem.  It allows horse crazed children the opportunity to spend a day at the barn with a knowledgeable staff, learning important things about horses.  Not only are they having fun learning, they also have the chance to get to know other children their age with similiar interests.  The cost per child is $40.00, which includes lunch and a beverage.  Here is an example of a typical Day Camp:

10:00-10:15  Arrive at the barn

10:15-10:45  Colors and Markings of Horses

10:45-11:15  How to Wrap Legs (Polos, Standing, Splints, etc.)

11:15-12:00  Hands On:  How to Lunge

12:00-12:30  Lunch  (Pizza and Beverage)

12:30-1:15   Emergency Situations (What to do)

1:15-1:45     Parts of Tack and How to Clean Properly

1:45-2:15    Review and Quiz

2:15-2:30    Parent Pick Up
