Candace Scheirer: Handling All of You and Your Horse's Needs

Lesson Horses

Candace Scheirer's lesson program is built on the sturdy backs of three quiet, bomb-proof, kid-safe horses.  These three horses are suitable for the absolute beginner to intermediate riders.  For the more experienced riders, the staff's personal horses are used.

Good As Gold also known as Goldie is truly one of a kind and true to her name! Goldie is a㺊 year old 15.2 hand Belgian/Paint mare who was saved from her tough life when she was purchased from a local auction.  Although she is bigger and bulkier than the average lesson horse, she is worth her weight in gold! She is safe for the clueless beginner and takes care of anyone on her back. She even allows the staff to stand on her back while trotting! Goldie has been dubbed "Big Mama" for her nurturing way with the younger horses on the property, and also for her bossy attitude in the field...Big Mama is definitely the boss, no doubt about it. To add to her charm, she is absolutely breath-takingly beautiful with her chestnut and white color, with a gorgeous flaxen mane that would make Goldie Locks jealous! You can't help but love this girl.

Update:  Goldie was such a good girl at her very first horse show!  Good job, Goldie!

Update:  Goldie is available for on site lease at Quarry Rock to a qualified individual or family.  Contact Candace for more information.

Little Miss Fancy Pants also known as Blondie is ać year old palimino large pony.  For the past three years she has been a camp pony.  Blondie came to us almost a year ago, and has been a delight ever since.  She is a joy to ride, has a great personality, and is wonderful on trails! She is a very cute mover and hopefully will make is to the hunter ring to strut her stuff!  She jumps very cute and has auto-changes.  Blondie is a great success with pony parties too!

Update: Blondie is back from camp!! Welcome home, Blondie!

Update:  Blondie is available for on site lease at Quarry Rock to a qualified individual or family.  Contact Candace for more information.

Invest In Me also known as Mia is also used in our lesson program. Her picture and information is located under "Staff Horses".  Mia is an excellent lesson horse who helps teach her riders how to ride a sensitive horse.  She does an excellent job adjusting from an experienced rider to beginner or intermediate rider. She understands that she must take care of them more than she would an experienced rider.  What a good girl!

HVF Paging My Cowboy is another trusty lesson horse in our program!  Paige is a very good girl who is super quiet and super responsive.  She has training in both english and western.  While we do not teach western lessons, Paige's western experience comes in handy for us.  She can do a lovely western jog which makes learning how to post to the trot a piece of cake.  She is very quick to respond to her rider's aids, which also helps them to learn that they need to be precise and accurate in the cues they give her.  She is definitely a rescue that has turned out to be an asset to our program.  More information about her is listed under the Rescues below.  Pictures coming soon!

Update:  Paige is available for on site lease at Quarry Rock to a qualified individual or family.  Contact Candace for more information.

Avocatia aka "Catie" is a new horse in our program.  She will be starting soon in our lesson program. We feel she will be a great addition to our lesson program...she has so much to offer and is just such a good girl!   She is very quiet and extremely responsive to her rider's aids.  She may actually be too responsive for a beginner rider...the slightest aid gets a reaction from her.  Such a good girl!  :)  There is more information about her on the "New Addition" section of this page.  Check back for updates!

Update:  Catie is being leased onsite by Denise! Happy Trails!

NEW ADDITIONS!

Please meet our newest lovely additions to our program.  Welcome to Hoof 'n Hearts!

(Above: Newest weanlings, back left: Murray (boarder), back right: Gibson, front: Bella)

Bella is a 3month old PMU foal who came all the way from North Dakota and arrived at our farm on October 3rd. She is an eligible American Warmblood...and is absolutely adorable! She is very sweet and inquisitive. After only two weeks of being with us, she has become quite sociable and looks for attention from us. She is an absolute doll.

Gibson is a 4month old PMU foal who also came with Bella and our boarder, Murray, from North Dakota. He is also eligible American Warmblood and is very fancy. He LOVES to get his withers scratched...he's eating up attention already! He is quite a love and is full of personality.

Double or Nothing aka "Dubsley" is one of our new additions as of Aug. 29th. Dubs came right off of the race track.  To put it mildly, he is drop dead gorgeous! He is a 6yr old 16.3h Thoroughbred gelding. He is a very sweet boy with a lot of potential. We have been having quiet a rough time with Dubs since he's been with us though. We are not certain whether or not he is not still battling through the effects of steroids which make him act very studdish. He has dropped weight and has deflated in the time he's been off the track. So far, our vets are guessing its due to the sudden lack of steroids in his system.  He essentially is going through withdrawal and a lot of metabolic changes. We are also mildly treating him for ulcers just in case that is the culprit of his weight loss. Should he not get less studdish as time goes by (as the possible steroids wear off) then we must get him check for whether or not he's a cryptorchid (undescended testicle, therefore he'd be a sterile stallion still producing testosterone.) Truly, he does not look like the same horse you see in this picture...his coat is dull, he dropped 150lbs, and lost a lot of muscle tone. He is fed double the amount we feed other horses of his size and breed. Keep your fingers crossed that we find a solution soon, or that the drugs finally wear off!! He's such a great boy, its such a shame people put horses through all of this just to make a buck!

Guess Again aka "Boonsie" is another lovely boy who came right off the track along with Dubsley on Aug.29th. Boonsie is a 6yr old 16.1hand Thoroughbred gelding who is quite the handsome boy. He is such a character with funny quirky things he likes to do. He is quiet and easy to work around. He is loving his new lifestyle of hanging out and grazing with his new buddy, Socks. He has settled in very nicely. We are just getting ready to start working with him. We have lunged him and Candace has been on him once so far...he is just green but not silly undersaddle. He has a lot of potential and should make a lovely hunter/jumper or eventing horse.  The picture to the right is Boonsie doing his favorite feed time pose...as soon as he hears us getting the grain or hay ready, he strikes tucks his head to his chest and lifts his front leg like he's pretending to be a Civil War horse statue. He holds it for several minutes until he gets his food. Too funny!

Staff's Horses

Hoof 'n Hearts is primarily run by Candace Scheirer, with occassional help from Reita Nairn and Marius Starosciak.  We work together as a three man team, working together harmoniously. Candace is currently the only staff with a personal horse.

Invest In Me also known as Mia, owned by Candace Scheirer, is a 13 year old 17.1hand registered Thoroughbred mare. She is a chestnut with three socks and a blaze. She is a gorgeous horse with great conformation and movement.  Mia was rescued by Candace on September 21, 2001 from a neglectful home where she received minimal care.  When Mia was first rescued, she was easily three-hundred pounds underweight.  After about six to eight months of a high fat/high protein diet, Mia's appearance had done a one-eighty.  She is now a "chunky monkey" who is spoiled rotten, bows on command, and takes peppermints from Candace's mouth.  She is a very talented horse who excels in hunter/jumpers and x-country jumping. She is a complicated ride due to her time on the racetrack, but she is a blast.  Her personality is fabulous...not to mention goofy and very grateful. Mia will live the rest of her life out with Candace...there is no doubt about that!

Fugazi aka "Socks" is a 14yr old 17.1 hand Hanovarian gelding who is a gorgeous bay with three socks and white on his face.  Socks is a dream to ride...and has been there, won that out on the 'A' circuit.  He is a very versatile horse...Big Eq, Jumpers, Hunters...you name it, and he can do it.  At one point, Socks also was schooling 3rd level dressage.  All in all, Socks is one very talented horse.  He is a horse Candace rescued almost six years ago!  He has come a very long way since then! Read more of his story in the "Rescue Horses" section of this page!  :)

The Herd....

Hoof 'n Hearts Horse Rescue houses several horses which we have rescued from slaughter, abuse, and neglect, while others were donated to our program.  At Hoof 'n Hearts, we are not prejudice to breed, age, size, etc.  All that matters is another horse was saved...from hoof to heart!

Good As Gold is pictured above as a lesson horse.  She was also rescued by Hoof 'n Hearts.

Invest In Me is pictured above under Staff's Horses.  She was rescued by Candace before Hoof 'n Hearts was founded.

Houdini, pictures below in Rainbow's Bridge, was also a rescue. RIP.

Killian, pictured below in Rainbow's Bridge, was also a rescue.  RIP.

Ruby County aka Jill is a 7yr old dark bay Thoroughbred mare. Jill is a lovely, super sweet mare who is going very well undersaddle now. She came to us right off the racetrack a year ago and she was quite a handful then, more than likely due to steroids. Jill now walk, trot, canters, has almost auto-changes, and jumps around 2'6"+ courses! She has been out on trail rides and is pretty brave. She is thankfully sound with no vices! Jill will make a great hunter/jumper or event horse...she has tons of potential! Jill has been trailered to indoors to school over fences and always has done a great job! She is very honest to the fences. Whoever is lucky enough to end up with Jill, will be seriously lucky people! She is quite the find!

Lucky's Broken Heart is a coming 4yr old 14.2h rose grey TB large pony mare. She is a very cute pony with tons of potential in the hunter ring. Heart was bred to race, but never grew! Thankfully, she stopped growing at the perfect height and is a top of the line large pony! She has lovely, floaty movement that will certainly get her noticed in the hack classes! She has been lightly started undersaddle but is super green. We have been on her a handful of times. She stands quietly in x-ties, for the farrier and to be tacked up, lunges like a champ, and is good for baths. She has been ridden walk and trot undersaddle on the lunge line but doesn't know the concept of leg and hands. Consistent schooling will teach her that. She will make a lovely Children's Hunter pony or maybe even be able to do the Large Pony division!!

Kiss and Tell is a 1 1/2yr old American Warmblood filly who is black with four socks and a blaze. She is absolutely gorgeous! "Zena" was rescued from North Dakota along with her half sister Zoe. Zena is a big sweetheart...she absolutely eats up attention. She will be an awesome horse when she is done growing and starts training. She is a great mover...long sweeping strides! She is a good girl...she x-ties, stands quietly for the farrier, is good for baths and clipping, and so much more!

By Design is a 1 1/2yr old American Warmblood filly who is a white and gray paint with one blue eye! She is a very cute girl with really neat markings. She is Zena's half sister and also came from North Dakota. She is a big love bug and is also an attention hog! She is very quiet and laib back, not much bothers her. She has very pretty movement and will be a success once she is undersaddle in a few years! She is also a very good girl and does everything her sister can do. She will be a phenominal horse when she's all grown up...and she will certainly stand out with her unique coloring!

Rhyme or Reason is a 3yr old 16.1h dapple grey Thoroughbred mare. She is absolutely lovely! "Roz" was training to be a racehorse, but never actually raced...she is not even tattooed. She has great movement and such a sweet personality! Roz is the biggest lover! She is a lot of fun to ride. She currently walk, trots, and canters undersaddle. She is very comfy to ride...great, rocking horse canter! Roz has so much untapped potential. She will be a super star in the hunter ring with her fancy look and movement to match it!

Popeye is a 7yr old 16.3h dark bay with dapples, an unusual face marking, and two hind socks.  He is off the track, sound, and with no vices that we know of.  He is GORGEOUS!!   He is blessed with lovely conformation.  He is built extremely solid, with massive amounts of muscle.  Popeye will be given a little bit of time off to relax before starting his training.  With his good movement, he will make a very nice hunter.  We will keep posting updates regularly.

Update:  Popeye was obviously drugged when we brought him home to mask serious lameness issues.  Popeye is lame on both front legs...with apparent issues in both his front fetlocks from his time at the racetrack.  He is more than likely going to spend the rest of his life as a pasture ornament and a companion horse.  He is such a gorgeous, sweet boy who loves attention....its such a shame his legs are so bad!

Update: After two years of down time, Popeye is FINALLY 90% sound!! He will never be able to be anything more than a pasture pet or a theraputic horse, but at least he is no longer in such pain! He no longer needs to be on bute and is so much happier now that he's more comfortable! He's fat, happy, and loving his life of grazing.

POPEYE IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AS A COMPANION OR A THERAPUTIC HORSE!

Fabio is a 8yr old red roan miniature horse gelding. He is a very sweet boy but can be a little bugger to catch sometimes! He was donated to our program since his owners could no longer afford him. He was very skinny and skittish when he arrived. This is certainly no longer the case...Fab's is quite a rolly polly now and is much friendlier and more trusting now. He is Popeye's pasture buddy.

FABIO IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION TO A GREAT HOME!

Paging My Cowboy aka Paige is a 8yr. old registered American Quarter Horse mare who is 15.3h and is a gorgeous chestnut with four socks and a blaze.  Paige was unfortunately impalled on a piece of metal today (5-26-08) which caused a huge muscle flap and gash that went all the way down to her sternum (breast bone) right where the girth would sit.  After being assessed by the veterinarian with a good prognosis...just TLC, stall rest, antibiotics, and pain medications, her owners decided her life wasn't worth saving and that she was going to be immediately sold for kill at the auction.  They did not want to take the responsibility to bring her back from her painful injury.  The veterinarian who looked at this beautiful mare knew Candace and HnH would give this mare the chance she deserves.  He was right!  After running to pick up the trailer and setting up a stall for her, Paige was moved back to the barn to start her road of recovery.  She settled in very nicely, quietly munching on hay in her new stall.   We will be sure to post frequent updates and of course, check back soon for pictures!!

Update:  Paige is doing AWESOME!! She is a dream to ride...very responsive, very quiet, and very willing to please.  She has training in english and western.  Paige is now being used as one of our trusty lesson horses.

Guinness is a a 7 year old dappled gray Percheron gelding who was rescued from the kill pen at a slaughter auction.  He was easily spotted in the pen, as he towered over the other horses with his shear size...18.1hands!  When we took a closer look at this super handsome boy, we saw that his hind left leg looked as though it got caught in high tensile fencing, leaving a gaping wound. Guinness was extremely frightened and timid, hovering against the fence while getting kicked repeatedly by a untied stud who was also in the kill pen.  He immediately pulled at our heart strings...and it was decided that we would try to bring him home.  After having the auction vet (who, by the way, is a great guy and a great vet to boot...) check out his rather fresh injury and giving a positive prognosis, we set out to find the killer buyer who bought him.  It didn't take long, and we soon found out that they bought the horse on Friday night and he had been stuck at the auction all weekend without food.  After haggling and arguing with the killer buyer, we settled on a price and he was ours! Guinness now leads a happy, leisurely life compared to his previous life pulling a tabacco wagon in North Carolina.  He is such a big baby and the nick name "Chicken Little" has been given to him. Our next mission for Guinness is to break the gentle giant...wish us good luck!!

Update:  Guinness is broke!! We have been on him a handful of times now, and he is doing wonderfully!  He is very quiet and well-behaved! We even took him on a mini trail ride around the property! Good boy, Guinnie!!

Update:  Guinnie is being soo good undersaddle!  Candace has ridden him walk, trot, and canter!!  He has been on several trail rides, with other horses and completely alone.  He is pretty good about road traffic also...motorcycles, big trucks, speeding cars, bicycles!  What a good boy!! And he is doing all of this with just a plain 'ol D-ring snaffle!  Gotta love him!

OUR HOOF 'N HEARTS MASCOT:

Sweet Pea is a three year old miniature horse filly.  At one auction, a shipment of about 35 minis came in and were being kept back in the pens.  In the middle of the group, there was a little itty bitty mini barely able to stand.  She couldn't hold her head up, and every one of her bones were visible through her thick fuzzy coat.  She was by far the most emaciated horse we have come into contact with.  How this little six month old foal was still alive and breathing is still a mystery to us.  When we asked the vet at the sale what was to become of the little filly, he informed us that he'd be euthanizing her as soon as he had an extra minute. As we are friends with the vet, and he knows we have only the most honorable intentions, accompanied by knowledge in rehabilitating horses, he offered to let us take the delapidated filly home to save her.  Without thinking twice, we picked the filly up and rushed her to the car we drove to the sale....a '97 Nissan Altima!  The little filly fit easily in the backseat and rode home quietly.  At this point, we did not have a barn to keep her in, so she went to Marius' gorgeous brand new house to live in his basement. (He's a such a good guy!)  Sweet Pea didn't know what any of the food we present to her was, and she was too listless to care to try to eat anyway.  We force fed her with a turkey baster and mushy grain/vitamins.  By the next morning, she crashed and had to be rushed to the vet for emergency treatment which consisted of three days of IV fluids and a Plasma transfusion to raise her protein level.  We came so close to losing Sweet Pea, but thank God, the little girl sure has a will to live!  She is now healthy and fat as can be...possibly too fat! She is the barn sweetheart, not only to the staff and all that knows little "Pony Butt", but to all the other horses, too!  Sweet Pea still rides around in the same Nissan Altima, with her head hanging out the window...she goes hiking, swimming at Blue Marsh Lake, is the guest speaker at different schools, and her list goes on.  She trully is an amazing little mini, and definitely one of a kind!

Update:  Always keep an eye on our Hoof 'n Hearts Gazette for news on Sweet Pea's adventures!  This silly girl is always up to something!

Update:  Sweet Pea went for surgery at New Bolton Center on October 10th, 2007 for a Cyclosporine implant in her right eye.  The implant is being used to treat her Recurrent Uveitis which could eventually lead to blindness.  Although the implant does not cure the Uveitis, it keeps it from reoccuring as often and as severe.  Wish Sweet Pea the best luck in the future....and Hoof 'n Hearts the best luck on paying off her surgery bill!! Ugh!!

Update:  Sweet Pea is going to get her picture taken with Santa Clause at Sheereland Forest and the Animal Rescue League....check back soon for her festive pictures!!

Fugazi also known as Socks is a 15 year old 17.1 hand Hanovarian/Thoroughbred cross.  Socks was born and raised on a Warmblood sporthorse breeding farm which provides virtually no care to their horses...no vet care, no farrier care, and hardly any feed.  Luckily for Socks, the breeder was intrigued by his striking appearance and bold movement and Socks received special care.  He was sent away to a Dressage trainer to be broke, and he proved how talented he really is.  After he returned from his Dressage training, he was sent to a jumper trainer who realized he was a superb jumper who had the scope and ability to easily clear a five foot jump...only catch was that Socks preferred to jump around a course slowly vs. rip around the course like a speed jumper.  The trainer then started to use a hot stick on him...a crop which would ELECTRICUTE the horse everytime it came into contact with it.  Socks went borderline insane with this cruel treatment.  He would immediately throw anybody who would attempt to ride him, just trying to save himself from the inhumane treatment he was used to receiving.  After throwing and injuring multiple people at the pathetic trainer's barn, he was sent back to the breeder.  The breeder, knowing Candace, asked to send Socks to her to see if his problems could be worked through.  After two weeks of trying with no real progress made, the breeder decided the horse's life wasn't worth saving....she wanted to sell him for slaughter! Candace would not allow it, so she bought the horse herself.  With tons of patience, Socks started to come around again.  Now he is almost back to himself, two years after the fact, and is able to be ridden at the walk, trot, and canter, and he even jumps around and shows at the rated shows!  He is one amazing horse!!

Update:  Yay!  Socks is home again!! We missed you, Socks!  Welcome back, handsome boy!

Following horses did not come from neglectful situation.

Saratoga Gloria is a 10yr old 16.3 hand registered Thoroughbred mare.  She is a solid bay, but is fancy as can be.  She has a fabulous top-line and conformation...not to mention great movement.  We have been calling her "Bazooka".  She raced successfully, and then was turned into a broodmare.  When we found her still lactating from a foal being weaned.  She is the sweetest mare ever...so lovey and cuddley.  She thinks she is a lap dog.  Bazooka is currently learning how to lunge, and then will be "re-broke" to ride.  We have recently gotten on her back.  She was a very good girl.  She is very green and needs to learn leg aids more thoroughly.  Intelligent as she is, it won't take her long to learn everything!

Update:  We hope to put Bazooka back in work shortly.  Check back for updates!

Update:  Bazooka may be available to lease (possibly buy) to the right home looking for a fun project.  Contact Candace for information.

Rainbow's Bridge

Scarlette was a 25+ yr old large pony mare we rescued from the auction, hoping to be able to give her a great home and maybe even use her for little kids beginner lessons.  She was a gorgeous white pony who looked to have been someone's fancy show pony in her earlier years.  She was sound at the auction and very sweet.  No more than twelve hours after we got her home, the drugs that were pumped into her wore off...they were used to mask the fact that she had foundered very severely.  I have never scene a pony in so much pain and I can only hope that the individual that drugged her to make money off of her can feel pain like that too.  They apparently over dosed her to cover her lameness which then caused her to colic...so not only was this pony foundering badly, she was colicing on top of it!  After having the vet come out three times in 8hrs to administer more medication to try to help her pull through, Candace slept outside in the field with her... comforting Scarlette and praying she'd pull through.  But the pain and suffering got to be too bad.  The vet had to be called out again to end this poor pony's suffering.  Scarlette was only with us for a day and a half.  We did everything we could for this sweet pony.  We paid $375 for her at the auction, but the vet bills costs well over $1,200, only to end up losing her anyway.  I pray and hope the individual who tortured the pony like this gets whats coming to him...and it was all over making a few dollars off her!  I'll never forget this sweet little mare.  She was laid to rest next to Houdini... hopefully they found greener pastures.  Rest in Peace, pretty girl...you've deserved it!

Houdini is a 27yr. old bay roan gelding who appears to be a Quarter Horse due to a ranch brand on his hip.  Houdini was taken to the local slaughter auction to be sold, but was intercepted by the vet and humane officer.  He was sentenced for euthanasia, but Hoof 'n Hearts offered to give the handsome man another chance at life...and a happy one, to boot.  Houdini is underweight by about 300+ pounds.  He does not have much energy, but is as sweet and affectionate as they come.  He surprisingly still has four shoes on and recent saddle rubs...so whoever had him was still using him despite his awful, weak condition.  Check back for updates on his condition! P.S.  We named him Houdini because he narrowly escaped death...we think he deserves an appropriate name!

Update: Houdini is doing wonderful!  He is becoming very perky and much more energetic.  He nickers and bobs his head when its time to eat.  He LOVES his time out in the pasture...he cannot get enough grass!  He is starting to finish his grain more regularly and eats every last piece of his hay (all three flakes of it!!) He should start to show weight gain pretty quickly at this rate.  Houdini also was just vetted and passed with flying colors...he only has a heart murmur, which is common in horses of his age.  Houdini should have a couple of good, happy years left in him....

Update:  Early this morning, (4-17-07) Houdini coliced badly and passed away before anyone could help him.   We are all very heartbroken over the loss of our newest rescue.  Houdini only got to spend three weeks with us, but at least it was three happy, restful, and pleasant weeks.  He loved his time here and received lots of love, care, and treats.  He got to enjoy relaxing and grazing in a nice grassy field.  Rest in peace, Houdini, and enjoy your new life across Rainbow's Bridge.

Killian is a 5yr. old 17.2+ hand warmblood.  He was just recently gelded and still acts very studdish.  We're hoping he out grows that!  He is a dark bay, looks black, with a big star and a big snip, and three matching socks.  He is breathtakingly beautiful!! Besides his fabulous looks and conformation, he is wonderful mover....so much potential!  This big boy has only been handled minimally....he only knows how to be haltered and led.  We'll keep you updated on his training and add new pictures soon!  Stay tuned!

Update: Killian may have sarcoma (cancer) on his sheath.  Veterinarians will be checking him and doing a biopsy this week.  Poor guy, but luckily, it should be treatable. Other than that, he is doing wonderful and settling in very nicely.  He is slowly acting less studdish.  Hopefully we will be able to repair the damages to his hooves soon, also.  We have started to teach him to lunge, and he caught onto it rather quickly.  We also pulled his long mane....he was such a good boy!  He's proving to be quite a find!

Update:  Killian was looked at by the vet, and it was determined that he does not have a sarcoma on his sheath.  It is an injury in the process of healing, but should heal nicely.  Killian is going to be moved soon to a facility where he can be worked with more thoroughly.

Update:  Killian has been taught how to lunge, and picked it up very quickly!  He is getting much better about his ears being handled.  We are working up to putting a saddle on his back...wish us luck!

Update:  Killian has been acting VERY studdish lately...and now we know why!  We had blood work drawn to test his testosterone level and it came back showing that he has only a slighty lower level than the average stallion.  Killian is a cryptorchid, which is the term for a male horse with an undescended testicle.  Whoever gelded Killian, did not take out both testicles...so Killian actually is a sterile stallion!!  That certainly explains his macho, ladies man behavior!  Killian will require surgery to locate the other testicle and to remove it.  Ugh...more vet bills!!!!

Update: On 4-4-07 Killian was euthanized at the faulty and unprofessional hands of veterinarian (who has been our vet for twelve years) WITHOUT Candace's permission or even her knowledge.  To say the very least, we are DEVASTATED by the unnecessary loss of this perfectly healthy, young, beautiful horse.  Candace has every intention of pursuing this matter legally and would appreciate any legal advice or representation she can get.  Killian's death was uncalled for and unjust...it is very hard to walk in the barn and not see his handsome face and hear his low nicker of hello.  We hope the vet responsible for this gets what he deserves and we plan on doing whatever it takes to make sure he does.  Rest in peace, buddy...you are well loved and well missed.  We will never ever forget you...you will remain in our hearts forever more.  Justice will be served, big guy!
